It's World Cup time!

OK - I admit it - I love soccer, I play soccer and I'm watching the first World Cup as I write (1-1 Brazil/Croatia right now if you're wondering what the score is).  I'll be rooting for the US as long as they last - hopefully into the next round but they are in a tough group!  And, since I also make jewelry I just have to share some of my soccer designs as well as some others - so enjoy!

Fun with torch enameling!

I shared some of my initial enameling results in an earlier blog post (http://cserpentdesigns.blogspot.com/2012/06/my-new-endeavor-revealed.html).  I've been working at it some more and had a productive weekend enameling beads and caps.  Here is what I started with

And here are the results!

I just love the flower drops! I'll be selling these (and more) at the Senior Classic Women's soccer tournament this weekend in Mira Mesa.  I'll be playing and selling again this year.  Fortunately my wonderful hubby will be helping out since normal helper (mom) is recovering from surgery right now.

We'll be at Hourglass Field in Mira Mesa (just south of Miramar College). Park in the Miramar College parking lot. We'll be there from 9-3 on Saturday and Sunday. Here's a mapquest link if you need it: Hourglass Field. Hope to see some of you there!

Soccer in Las Vegas - Purple Haze style!

I spent last weekend in Las Vegas playing soccer (and doing other things of course!). I'm on a soccer team called Purple Haze and we regularly play in the Friendship tournaments in Las Vegas - we even won one year! Here's the team after out last game. It was bright, sunny and warm in Las Vegas - but a LOT warmer in San Diego. Besides soccer (and gambling for some) we also have a bowling tournament on Saturday night. It's just for fun, we award goofy prizes (like a toilet bowl brush to the person who "cleaned up" the most spares and a princess pen and watch for the best dressed - you get the picture!). If you want to see more of our team pictures then check out my soccer folder on flickr. Enjoy!
